P.D. Ouspensky’s greatest work “Tertium Organum” - A key to the enigmas of the world, a key to the mysteries of nature…is the greatest contribution to this century, this is another book which Osho has loved a lot and he says that Ouspensky has a rare mind – a mind of a genius – again Osho says that it’s a miracle what he has written is something which only a realized soul can and he had written this book before meeting Gurdjieff and after meeting Gurdjieff he said that now I have understood the meaning of Tertium Organum.
Ouspensky says Tertium Organum is the third canon of thought – third instrument – of thoughts after those of Aristotle and Bacon. The first was Organum, the second, Novum Organum. But the third existed before the first….and Osho says about that this caught his attention…this caught fire in his heart….In those days Osho’s salary was Rs.70 and this book the most expensive one in those days costed Rs.70 and Osho purchased it….the consequences you can understand …he was thrown out of his little rented house…he faced many problems but he said I was happy Tertium Organum in my hand….
Ouspensky had a perfect mind of a mathematician with the exception that he was also spiritual in his book he used intuition with logic – logic favoring intuition – logic giving wings to intuition – logic serving intuition.
For intuition you cannot really create logic but somehow he has done the job, he gives the possibility of love in science and when science comes to love it comes to a point of surrender – to a point of transformation – sooner or later it comes to a point where there is no answer – when there is only understanding left.
And that understanding in itself is enough – to step into the unknown – to know that you know nothing and nothing makes your mind die and death makes you enter into love – into the love of this nature – This aha! – This wonder! – This beautiful!
